Serving the Fremont Metro Area

compassionate care

Fremont’s Most Trusted I/DD Service Provider

At Hands of Heartland, we believe that individuals with developmental disabilities are people first. With that in mind, we’re proud to offer I/DD services to people living in and around Fremont, NE.

Individuals who have I/DD deserve all the same opportunities as people who don’t have similar challenges. Being a part of the community, getting and holding a job, nurturing their creativity, developing lasting relationships, living independently, accumulating wealth–these are all things people with developmental disabilities have a right to pursue. And we’re happy to be an I/DD service provider that helps people achieve their dreams.

Residential Services

Depending on the person’s needs, an individual with developmental disabilities may thrive at home. Luckily, some solutions benefit both people with I/DD and their families, and we offer a variety of them to Nebraska residents. Here are some of the options we offer:

  • Continuous residential services
  • Independent living services
  • Supported family services
  • Shared living services

As a trusted residential services provider, we encourage you to contact us to learn more about the residential services we provide.

Habilitative Services

Interacting with others and participating in social activities that some people may take for granted can be difficult for people who have developmental disabilities. To make social activities easier, we’ve created a menu of developmental disability services that are intended to foster engagement and increased independence.

Our day services include activities like volunteering in the community. Doing things like gardening and making pottery with community members are part of our community integration services.

A&D Waiver Services

We’re extremely proud that our organization was one of the first to offer the requisite services within Nebraska’s A&D waiver program, which was officially activated in August 2020. As a trailblazer in this vertical, Hands of Heartland offers services to assist families with caring for loved ones with I/DD at home. In general, people with I/DD who qualify for this type of service are at risk of being placed in a nursing home–possibly for the rest of their lives–without the assistance we provide.

Respite Care

Even the most dedicated caregiver needs a break from time to time, which is why we offer respite care. Whether you need a few hours to recharge, you have a special event to attend, or you have an important meeting at work, you can count on the compassionate team at Hands of Heartland to care for your loved one in a safe, welcoming environment during your absence.
