Our Habilitation Community Integration Services are built with our core values at the forefront of our efforts. These services are a program we take particular pride in here at Hands of Heartland, as we have been providing them since the inception of our organization. We know that the people we support have differing interests and aspirations, and we design our community inclusion services so that these interests can be explored in a community setting. This can take the form of pottery classes, gardening, games, and many other areas of interest — right alongside people without disabilities.
Community Integration is a service with significant importance to us here at Hands of Heartland, as we believe the people we support possess skills and talents that deserve to be shared with the community. Our programs do not happen within sheltered workshops or exclusive spaces; they are creative community co-ops which are all-inclusive and welcome those from the community to join in. Through interaction with people without disabilities, the people we support are able to gain life and vocational skills that cannot be replicated in an isolated setting.
These programs help to nurture the creativity that the people we support are naturally blessed with and work toward strengthening communicative and vocational skills. We offer multiple services aimed at community integration, each created with the needs of the person in mind.
